Christmas don't be late
well... its that time of year again, and i'm really not that excited yet because i'm not in Montreal yet. i love christmas, and there are so many traditions with my family... they go soemwhat like this;
as soon as we can, we go to montreal, and upon arrival and hugs and kisses, we decorate the tree. my grandma, aunt sue, uncle gerry, mom, dad, scott, and i are there.
Christmas eve, we laze around, and after yummy hors d'oeveurs, we have either salmon or lobster that my uncle has brought fresh from halifax. yum yum. i hope its lobster this year. we then go to church, which is an event, trying to get everyone but my dad out the door all nicely dressed with ONE bathroom between all of us.
Christmas starts at precisely 650 am, where my brother and i bombard the adults to make sure everyone is ready to go for 7. then its stockings first, and then my brother and i hand out presents, evenly distributing our own among everyone elses. then we have crepes with fruit for breakfast, really late. we have little or no lunch, just maybe appetisers later. we try to get out, even if we only walk to the train tracks and back, or to the Smiths (the people who tried to give me beer last time i went there), and then christmas turkey dinner. mmmm. there is a strategy to it all though, do the dishes sometime on christmas eve OR christmas breakfast so you're not stuck doing christmas dinner dishes (grandmas=no dishwasher).
Boxing day, we got skiing at either Tremblant or Mt. Ste. Saveur all day.
the 27th is the family curling tournament at Whitlock(the country/golf/curling club combo my grandma belongs to) they have really good food cus its practically home made.
my christmas is alot about food and family, and i wouldn't change it. even though we go home probably atleast 10 pounds heavier, its all worth it. Christmas isn't Christmas without Hudson, Quebec.
this is me right now... (and i hate to quote clay aiken, but it fits)
"if I was invisible... oh wait, i already am..."
yeah thats me in a nutshell.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Everyone!!
