the life of kristen... highly uninteresting, i swear!
well... the first full week of school has come to a close, and it already seems like i've been there FOR EVER! its definetly been a busy week with bands out my butt and rugby stuff and actual school.
subjects in review... math is ok, its SO slow paced, but when i tell ppl that i think U math is slow, they look at me like i'm crazy!?!? Get over it. U math is SLOW, in my opinion. i am, however very glad that i didn't take Enriched becuase i now have a chance at getting a grade up to snuff with the rest of mine. i don't want anther year where math pulls my average down by like 5 or 6 percent.
music is AWESOME. i can already tellits gonna be an AMAZING year. i made 1st in wind symphony, which is quite the accomplishment, and i'm sharing stands with anaita!! i am so excited about mind symphony... finally, a band thaty can PLAY. jazz has been great too! woohoo lead in monday morning blues band, sharing a stand with Caleb, a good year certainly. i'm also in church street, and i'm playing 2nd all by my lonesome. i don't really know what possessed mr thomas to give me all the solos... esp after my LOVELY 3 note improv solo last year that went down in jazz band history. oh well... more of an excuse to work my ass off and build my skills, cus jazz is defiently my weakness. also Music council retreat last weekend, which was a blast. so much fun. the slip and slide rocked, as did everything else... although i do regret creating an army of baby shark fanatics...
french is becoming more and more bearable...i have no clue why, cus its still boring as hell, but i guess its nice to have a class where we really don't do anything, and i NEVER have homework cus i finish all the work in class (almost half an hour before anyone else)... i dunno i still think that the teacher has some self confidence issues...
ENGLISH IS SO MCUH FUN. i think it would be fun even if it wasn't my only giftee class, whic makes it all that much better! its SO HILARIOUS, and i wasn;t too sure about tunnicliff as a teacher cus i don't always agree with her coaching styles, but she is a good teacher... so far.
BIO is hilarious, especually with ms webb and sameer. and its the ONE branch of science that i understand! its got a nice homey feeling to that class already.
Chem is ok... i mean its not overly exciting, and the work is more than most classes, but there are good peopel in that class...
Anthro is fun, but i really don't like it how only 6 ppl in that class answer, well i don't mind that, but i mind that the teacher is already annoyed with those 6 ppl and won't choose them anymore... i dunno, i guess cus i'm just one of those ppl who always has something to say, so it bugs me when she chooses ppl who don't have anything to say.
World history too is ok, but its one of those courses that ppl take when they have nothing else to take, so like half the class doesn't want to be there, whihc makes it frustrating. i really wish ALL the people wanted to be there, and were excited for it, like i am, but i know i am setting my sights too high.
other than school... i've been fundraising like crazy... bake sale yesterday for hurricane Kat victims, VERY FUN, and rugby car wash today, and SPC cards for rugby. my goodness things really are getting into full swing very quickly. Muchos fun with friends...but i still wish it was summer. i really want to go camping or canoeing or hiking, or SOMETHING. anything away from the city in the great outdoors. Watching Without a Paddle last night (pretty good movie by the way) made me want to be outside even more... oh well... i guess i'll have to wait until fri... CAMPING @ GLEN HAFFY C.A.!! until then... school.
